This comprehensive training is designed for Disease Intervention Specialists (DIS) working in STD prevention and control. Core information is combined with opportunities to:

  • enhance efficacy in interviewing techniques to identify and locate sexual partners of STD patients;
  • improve field safety and methods for confidential notification and referral of partners to medical evaluation;
  • facilitate a risk-reduction plan; and
  • review techniques of case management and visual case analysis.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of a DIS orientation program using the STD Employee Development Guide.

Note: This is a nine-day training; there is no training conducted on Saturday or Sunday.
