Webinar: HIV Testing in California Medical Settings: Practical Steps for Implementing New Testing Law and CDC Recommendations
In January 2008, California passed AB682 which eliminated the requirement for a separate written consent for an HIV test. This new law allows medical providers to offer opt-out HIV testing per the CDC's 2006 revised recommendations. This web-based live training will outline the steps to take to implement routine HIV testing in your medical setting and provide a lively forum for discussion among diverse California clinicians and administrators. Participants will listen to the content through the provided media. This event was originally recorded on June 9, 2008. Credit will be issued until June 8, 2011.Objectives:
- Discuss key action steps to implement opt-out testing in California
- Describe how different medical settings have addressed implementation barriers
