COVID-19 Virtual Training Academy

This virtual course will be conducted over the period of 4 days for 3-4 hours per day from 9am -1pm. The course will also include pre-learning consisting of online self study and review of written materials.
Registering for this course will initiate the process and further information will be forwarded for your completion.
NOTE: If you do not have access to a computer and internet at home you are not eligible for this program. It is not necessary to complete the registration process at this time. If you are able to secure compter and internet access in the future please return to register at that time. Thank you.
Purpose:
The goal of the COVID-19 Virtual Training Academy is to rapidly and effectively train staff to support public health systems throughout California as they mobilize to address COVID-19.
Upon course completion, participants will be able to:
- understand the basic principles of public health and epidemiology as they relate to COVID-19
- understand case investigation activities
- conduct contact tracing activities in their jurisdictions
- understand the essential components of isolation and quarantine
- conduct all contact tracing activities in alignment with the principles of good public health practice, which include respect for persons, cultural sensitivity, autonomy and confidentiality.
