HIV Disclosure and Partner Services Training for PCRS (CA VERSION)

This training is designed to provide California HIV prevention and care staff with an overview of California Partner Counseling and Referral Services (CA PCRS). The course focuses on the skills needed to effectively work with people living with HIV to ensure their sex and needle sharing partners are notified of potential HIV exposure. After completion of this course participants will be able to describe and utilize the CA PCRS process, list and describe the three referral options, assess a client for partner domestic violence issues and make appropriate referrals, conduct disclosure planning for all three options, describe the field notification process utilized in anonymous third party notification and elicit partner locating and identifying information.
Prerequisite: CA Office of AIDS certified HIV Counselors must have completed BASIC I and BASIC II

This course is approved for 16 hours of CET and 15.6 CE's
