Group Facilitation
The primary goal of this two-day training is to enhance participants' group facilitation skills relevant to group-level HIV prevention interventions. This training explores:
- the nature of groups;
- the stages of group development;
- group process dynamics;
- the nuances of co-facilitation; and
- steps to planning and organizing group-level interventions.
Additionally, each participant will have an opportunity to practice facilitation skills in a group setting.
Course application is appropriate for activities conducted in peer and non-peer-led groups, and single- to multi-session groups.
The California STD/HIV Prevention Training Center is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number CEP 14547 for 15.6 contact hours for Facilitation Skills for Group-Level HIV/STD Interventions.
