This skills-building class is designed for clinicians who provide care for persons with HIV, and promotes the use of the clinical encounter for the prevention of HIV transmission.  You will learn about effective screening for behavioral HIV transmission factors; delivering universal prevention interventions; and the importance of Partner Services in the care of patients.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention designates this educational activity for a maximum of 6 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This activity for 6 contact hours is provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which is accredited as a provider of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditations. The CDC has been reviewed and approved as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) 8405 Greensboro Drive, Suite 800, McLean, VA 22102. The CDC has awarded .6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to participants who successfully complete this program.
