SWAP is on the move!

Hello everyone,

As we enter 2012, there are exciting changes happening with SWAP!

Over the years, SWAP has been a place to upload and download locally developed educational and campaign materials about sexual health and related topics. We have been able to provide a place for the providers in California and across the country to share ideas through an online database of resources.

In 2012 we will be expanding to a national level and moving the SWAP database to the National Chlamydia Coalition's Chlamydia Resource Exchange database at www.chlamydiaresourceexchange.org. This is a wonderful opportunity to both expand our reach as well as conserve resources.  Here's what you need to know:

- If you have uploaded materials to SWAP in the past, the materials have already been moved to the new database unless they were outdated or were not usable by a broad population. Most materials were moved.

- If you have new materials to upload and share, please do! You will find that the new database is automated and a little easier to use for submitting materials. There is still an approval process, but on our end this process is much more streamlined.

- If you would like your materials removed from the http://www.chlamydiaresourceexchange.org/ website, please contact me directly.

- Going forward, we will still highlight materials in the new database on a regular basis with a focus on California and the work we do in this state, However, you will now have access to material from colleagues from around the country. Materials you share will be available to a national audience. This will broaden the scope of our work and enhance the breadth and depth of what we can share.

- The current link to SWAP at http://www.stdhivtraining.org/material_swap_home.html, will start to re-direct to the new website and eventually this link will be inactive.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the California STD/HIV Prevention Training Center for hosting SWAP all of these years on their website. They have been most generous in providing the server space and administrative support that made this project possible.

Tremendous thanks go to Joyce Lisbin, who is now retired, but had the original idea for SWAP and made this idea a reality for sharing materials for the past 4 years. Thank you Joyce!
